Focus on Black Onyx Jewelry

Busy season is here, I've geared up for many home parties & craft shows and haven't had time to update regularly and take pictures of all the goodies to offer.

Black Onyx Briolette with Smoky Topaz Gemstone necklace - beautifully faceted - An affordable quality piece to have in your wardrobe. Why buy junk???? You can have affordable, genuine distinctive pieces that will last a lifetime.

Black Onyx - I've read that black onyx is the 'mystical' birthstone for the month of December and given on 7th year anniversaries. I have some green onyx & blue in stock and I'm looking forward to creating with it. Blue is actually a blueberry color I plan on having some fun with. Green is perfect for my celtic designs I'll be introducing next year.

Onyx is a chalcedony quartz that is mined in Brazil, India, California and Uruguay. It has a fine texture and black color; however some onyx also displays white bands or ribbons against a black or brown background and this variety is known as sardonyx. The name comes from the Greek word onyx which means nail of a finger or claw. Legend says that one day while Venus was sleeping Eros/Cupid cut her fingernails and left the clippings scattered on the ground. Because no part of a heavenly body can die, the gods turned them into stone which later became known as onyx. General Lore: Eliminate apathy, stress and neurological disorders. Elminiate nagative thinking and sharpen the wits of the wearer. It is used to change habits, help concentration levels and aid absentmindedness. Some think it makes the wearer more eloquent and should be worn for public speaking.
